Clairbourn’s middle school is buzzing with the spirit of student leadership. We had an exceptionally large turnout of students wanting to serve their school as Student Council Representatives in this last election cycle. In fact, 37.5 percent of our entire middle school just ran for office!
If you look at each class the numbers get even more exciting. 44% of sixth-graders and 56% of seventh-graders just ran for office. We had 14% run for eighth grade (more would have come forward but they are involved with learning their roles in the full-text Shakespeare play).
The election took place on January 15, and the elected Student Council representatives for the second half of the school year, are sixth-graders Belen C., Sarah I., and William L., seventh-graders Kaylie S., Alexander L., and Kevin Z., and eighth-graders Aaron C. and Emily W. They join the four officers elected last May, Cyanne J., Secretary, Matthew C., Treasurer, Kennedy K., Vice President, and Isabel C., President.
Sincere appreciation goes to all the students who ran for the election, and we thank them for their spirit of citizenship and willingness to serve Clairbourn School!
